UGC to enroll over 41,000 students in universities

This time, 41,500 students would be enrolled in universities, the University Grants Commission (UGC) said.

Students who attended the GCE Advanced Level Examination in 2019 will be admitted, said Prof. Sampath Amaratunga, Chairman of the GCE Advanced Level Examination.

He added that 10,000 more students will be enrolled this year, compared to last year.

371 students are to be enrolled in medical faculties and 405 in engineering faculties.

In the meantime, a special Notice of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, Sri Lanka, was released on 28 October 2020.

The Gazette was issued by Professor G. L. Peiris, Minister of Education, in consultation with the University Grants Commission, according to the powers conferred on him by Section 21 of the Law on Universities, No. 16 of 1978.
