Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva has stated that quarantine curfew has been imposed in the Kotahena area from 6.00pm today (22).
Earlier today, quarantine curfew was also imposed until next Monday in the areas of Mattakkuliya, Mutwal, Wellampitiya, Bloemendhal and Grandpass in Colombo.
Over 6,000 Covid-19 cases
The number of Covid-19 cases crossed the 6,000 mark today after 50 more cases were reported a short while ago.
All cases are linked to the Divulapitiya cluster and include 22 cases who are staff of two factories in the Katunayake Trade Zone, 06 cases from the Peliyagoda Fish Market and 22 contacts.
Accordingly, the Divulapitiya cluster has increased to 2,558 and the total number of cases so far stand at 6,028.
Testing a must if visited Peliyagoda
Meanwhile, the Army Commander has stated that anyone who visited the Peliyagoda Fish Market during the past week, must visit a PHI immediately for tests.
