Agroecology promotes gender equality and women, while industrial agriculture marginalizes them.

Today(Oct; 16) – the International Day of Rural Women

Rural women bear the brunt of multiple crises today. Even as the burden of farm work, care work and domestic work multiplied under Covid-19 lockdowns, rural women are on the frontlines advocating for agroecology, food sovereignty, and community resilience.

Agroecology promotes gender equality and women’s leadership, while industrial agriculture further marginalizes women, diminishing their rights to land and resources. Today, on the International Day of Rural Women, we all no matter wherever we live all human have to stand in solidarity with rural women across world. It is needed to work together to promote agroecology and close the gender gap in agriculture and food security.
